MEGAN Fox takes your breath away, literally. The 23-year-old “Sexiest Woman Alive” is slender with jet-black hair and piercing blue eyes that stop you in your tracks and turn your wellthought out questions into a jumbled mess.
It’s hard to imagine it took just one major film to propel her to superstardom and global fame – until you speak to this Tennessee native in person.
Oozing confidence from every pore in her body and speaking in an unexpected nasal, almost childlike voice, Fox obviously knows what she wants, and takes nothing for granted. “I’ve been very lucky to have been a part of the projects I’ve been in, very lucky,” she said.
Transformers was what made her a household name (think of the scene in which she leans over a car’s engine) although Fox had starred in other movies, such as Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen (alongside Lindsay Lohan), How To Lose Friends and Alienate People, and Whore.
This year she reprises her role as Mikaela Banes in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and stars as Jennifer Check in the dark comedy Jennifer’s Body.
While Fox is well aware of her sex symbol status, she sighs and rolls her eyes slightly at the mention of it.
“Does it get tiring? Being a sex symbol? I have no complaints about that, I’m ecstatic. But if you recognise the fact that you’re a sex symbol, there’s something wrong with you.”
In Reveng e, we see Mikaela jump on a motorcycle and ride off into the distance.
In reality, Fox can’t ride to save her life.
“That wasn’t me. I didn’t ride that bike. I don’t know how,” she explained. “When I wrapped the movie I bought a Ducati, because I thought it’d be really cool to learn how to ride it, like a biker chick.
“The first time I got on, I dropped it. And I haven’t been on it since,” she chuckled.
Apart from not being the “biker chick” of many a man’s dream, Fox does have an extremely male quirk – she’s into comic books.
“I love comic book films – anything you would see in a comic, I want to be in it.”
If all goes as planned, she will be in the film adaptation of Fathom, playing the character Aspen Matthews.
Aspen is a beautiful marine biologist and former Olympic swimmer who discovers she’s a member of a race of aquatic humanoids.
“It’s my all-time favorite comic,” said Fox.
The previous day at the world premiere of Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen in Tokyo, Japan, Fox stepped out onto the red carpet in a floor-sweeping purple Donna Karan gown, instantly grabbing the spot light from the other cast members.
Screaming teenagers went into a wild frenzy as she stopped to sign her name on posters, shoes and even bras.
With so much attention surrounding her and a promise of many movie contracts to come, Fox revealed that she doesn’t let it get to her head.
“I hang out with normal people like Shia (LaBeouf). He’s normal, he’s not a cocky dude, not self Obsessed,” she said as she took a break from signing autographs to speak to TV crews. “When I’m in my house I do a lot of normal things, I read, I watch TV, I’m just a normal person.
“That’s the only way to stay grounded,” said Fox as s he politely thanked the press and returned to her hysterical fans. – By Nasa Maria Entaban
