Just how many photo scandals is a 15-year-old supposed to endure in a week anyway?

Miley Cyrus faces her second round of embarrassing snapshots in the past seven days. This time, she says that she is upset by how a photo shoot for Vanity Fair turned out.
Photos in the magazine show Cyrus in a provocative state. It was apparently too much for the 'Hannah Montana' star, who saw images of herself flashing her bra and posing suggestively pop up across the Internet just days ago.

"I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed," the teen superstar says in a statement to OK! about the Vanity Fair spread. "I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."

She added to PEOPLE, "My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie [Leibovitz]."

PEOPLE also reports that Cyrus appears to be topless, but was actually clothed during the shoot.

Vanity Fair responded, telling ET "Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley. In fact, when Bruce Handy interviewed Miley, he asked her about the photo and she was very cheerful about it and thought it was perfectly fine."

The Cyrus clan has yet to respond to Vanity Fair's rebuttal, but Cyrus also addressed the photos that popped up across the Web last week.

"The pictures of me on the Internet were silly, inappropriate shots<" she told PEOPLE. "I appreciate all the support of my fans, and hope they understand that along the way I am going to make mistakes and I am not perfect. I never intended for any of this to happen and I am truly sorry if I have disappointed anyone." In January, several photos of Cyrus in her underwear and wearing bikinis also leaked online, supposedly hacked from her MySpace page.
