HOT NEWS : SUSAN BOYLE MAKE OVER - REDEFINING BEAUTY & TALENT!!

Boyle, 48, who stunned Britain's Got Talent bosses this week by getting her frizzy grey hair dyed brown, was seen sporting a fake Burberry scarf and a pair of trendy specs. She also wore her favourite 16 pounds Primark jacket and beige trousers as she left her home in West Lothian.Besides the clothes, she has even tried her hand at some DIY make-up, with foundation applied patchily across her forehead and cheeks.Fashion-watchers have said that she would soon need to get her hair done again."That dye will only last about ten days, not even until the show finals. If she doesn't get another makeover she'll be back to the old Susan soon," the Sun quoted a source as saying.
It was to her elderly mother, sometime before she passed away, that Susan Boyle pledged she would "do something" with her life.
Two years on from that loss, she honored that promise with a now almost legendary appearance on a British television talent show.
A video clip of the Scot winning over skeptical judges and a cynical crowd with a rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream." from the musical "Les Misérables" has been viewed more than 40 million times, making it one of the most popular YouTube videos ever posted.
SUSAN BOYLE rise to popularity is prompting many commentators, even those not usually noted for their interest in light entertainment, to find a deeper meaning in her performance.
"Boyle let me feel ... the meaning of human grace.... She reordered the measure of beauty. And I had no idea until the tears sprang how desperately I need that corrective," said Entertainment Weekly writer Lisa Schwarzbaum.
One of Boyle's fellow Scots, Alison Kennedy, a writer and comedian, says that some cynicism has also emerged around her meteoric rise and who might profit by it. But it's focused on Simon Cowell, judge, producer and creator of "Britain's Got Talent." Yes, the same Simon Cowell on "American Idol."
Mr. Cowell stands to make a lot of money from Boyle, who he has predicted would have a No. 1 record in the US.

HOT NEWS: Larry King Live comment on SUSAN BOYLE

Susan Boyle, you little minx; why can't I get enough of you? Unsatisfied with avalanche of coverage this Scottish phenom has already received, I turned to the sultan of softball questions Friday to see if he could possibly unearth any new tidbits about the 47-year-old woman who brought down the roof last week on Britian's version of American Idol.

Lawrence Harvey Zeiger (born November 19, 1933), better known by his stage name Larry King, is an American television and radio host. He is recognized in the United States as one of the premier broadcast interviewers of modern times. King has conducted some 40,000 interviews with politicians, athletes, entertainers and other newsmakers. He has won an Emmy Award, two Peabody Awards and ten Cable ACE Awards.

Following her performance on Britain's Got Talent, Boyle was a guest on STV's The Five Thirty Show. She was interviewed via satellite on CBS's Early Show and ABC's Good Morning America, and via a telephone interview on FOX's America's Newsroom. In an interview, Simon Cowell said Boyle had received an invitation to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show and predicted that if she did appear "there's every chance Susan Boyle will have the number one album in America"

Sadly for we Boyle fans, Larry King made us sit through an excruciating 45 minutes of vapid chatter about Twitter and King's competition with Ashton Kutcher (or "Oshton," as he called him) for one million followers. I thought we'd never get to Boyle -- but then there she was, in all her un-tweezed glory. And wearing Wilma Flintstone beads, to boot!

Granted I could barely understand some of the things she said (her "courage" sounded a lot like cottage) but it was positively delightful to hear her giggle over Simon Cowell wanting to make her a recording star. But then she spoke in all seriousness about not wanting to change her appearance because, after all, we're talking about her identity here! And eat your heart out, Celine "I punch my chest for emphasis" Dion: Boyle ended her all-too-brief appearance with a breathtaking rendition of "My heart will go on." Encore, I say! Encore!

So where will she do it, Boyle fans? How many days will pass before we see Diane Sawyer beat out Baba Wawa for the exclusive tell-all in primetime? Will you watch if she does? Or are you (gasp!) done with Boyle-mania?

HOT NEWS : SUSAN BOYLE- A British phenomenon soaring for Vancouver's Arts Club Theatre's production of Les Misérables?

Boyle recorded a version of "Cry Me a River" for a charity CD produced in 1999 at a school in
Whitburn, West Lothian. This recording has now been released on the web, and has gathered immediate acclaim, with the New York Post writing that this shows that Boyle is not a "one-trick pony" and that the rarity of this CD imprint, with only 1,000 produced, will make them valuable collector's items.Other media reaction was similarly positive, with Hello! magazine stating that the recording is a further illustration of the level of Boyle's talent, going on to write that the song "cements her status" as a singing star.

The Susan Boyle YouTube phenomenon has sent ticket sales soaring for Vancouver's Arts Club Theatre's production of Les Misérables.

The company says the British phenomenon's rendition of I Dreamed a Dream has warmed Vancouver-area theatre-goers' hearts, resulting in a doubling of ticket sales in the three days since Boyle's performance went viral on the Internet.

The Arts Club said in a press release that it would like to give Boyle "her first kiss." She famously confessed on the popular U.K. talent show Britain's Got Talent that she had "never been kissed."

In the Vancouver show, the Les Miz hit will be sung by actress Sara-Jeanne Hosie, who paid tribute to her British counterpart: "I'm excited that, with her spirit and incredible voice, SusanBoyle has connected people to the beauty and power of this song. But mostly it's a relief that if I get hit by a bus, the Arts Club knows exactly who to ask to replace me!"

The ticket boost has accelerated the production's already-successful momentum. The Arts Club says there are several sold-out performances already, with many more nearing capacity.

The hit musical runs fromMay 14 to July 19 at the Arts Club's historic Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage.

HOT NEWS : CRY ME A RIVER BY SUSAN BOYLE

Susan Boyle (born 1961) is a Scottish church volunteer and amateur singer who came to public attention when she appeared as a contestant on the third series of Britain's Got Talent.Boyle leapt to almost immediate global fame when she sang "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Misérables in the competition's first round.

Before she sang, both the audience and the judges had expressed scepticism based on her age and what was seen as a somewhat plain, unprofessional appearance. In contrast, her vocal performance was so well received that she has been dubbed "The Woman Who Shut Up Simon Cowell".She received a standing ovation from the live audience, attracting yes-votes from Cowell and Amanda Holden, and the "biggest yes I have ever given anybody" from Piers Morgan. The original talent show and audition was recorded in Scotland in January 2009.

The juxtaposition of the reception to her voice with the audience's first impression of her triggered global interest. Articles about her appeared in newspapers all over the world, while millions watched a YouTube video of her performance in the first few days. Cowell is reported to be setting up a contract with Boyle with his Syco Music company label, a subsidiary of Sony Music.

The song title "Cry Me A River" brings Justin Timberlake to mind for Generation Y. But that is likely to change thanks to Susan Boyle, the Scottish singing sensation whose Britain's Got Talent appearance wooed millions of broadcast and online viewers.

Boyle's moving rendition of "Cry Me A River" was uploaded to YouTube Thursday night, sparking further interest and frenzy over the extremely talented singer.

Boyle's "Cry Me A River" is a remake of the blues standard, not Timberlake's pop ballad. Boyle's track went virtually unnoticed when it was independently released 10 years ago on a charity CD reported Times Online. The Whitburn Community Council in West Lothian only pressed 1,000 copies of The Millennium Celebration compilation.

The singer, who said she has never been kissed, now has an offer on the table from Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan who has said he would take her on a romantic date. Still, Boyle isn't eager to abandon her more homely looks for an extreme makeover just because she is on the television show.

"I wouldn't want to change myself too much because that would really make things a bit false," she told CNN's American Morning on Friday. "I want to receive people as the real me, a real person."

It's not just Boyle's singing that has fans searching the internet for related information. Web searches for the term "gobsmacked" spiked after Boyle used the British slang meaning utterly astonished when describing her reaction to newfound widespread acclaim.

The humble 48-year-old unemployed singer who began performing in school productions when she was 12 credits her late mother as the inspiration to audition for the competition show. Boyle's story has already won her talk show circuit interviews on CNN and Larry King Live. An appearance on Oprah is said to be in the works.

Hot News : Susan Boyle-the Scottish singing sensation!!

YouTube marvel Susan Boyle, the Scottish singing sensation who last weekend stunned the judges of the Britain's Got Talent TV show – including cynical Simon Cowell – has hit American shores. In what was billed as her "first U.S. performance,".Boyle responded to CBS's The Early Show hosts Maggie Rodriguez and Harry Smith's request that she sing and reprised her signature "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical Les Miserables – and, after rendering it a capella, not only nailed it, but won accolades from Broadway's Patti LuPone, who first introduced the song in 1985. "Susan," said LuPone, speaking over the phone on the Early Show, "you've got pluck, girl." Boyle, 47, said from her home in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland, that when she was younger people made fun of her.

Now, the reaction is anything but that. "Everyone wishes me very well," she says. As for the international reaction, especially online, Boyle modestly admitted, "It hasn't maybe sunk in yet." What turned Boyle's world around was her Britain's Got Talent appearance. After her entrance triggered snickers and patronizing comments – especially when the dowdy and slightly jumpy Boyle said she wanted to be the next Elaine Paige, a petite blonde British stage musical star – Boyle picked up the microphone and magically delivered "I Dreamed a Dream."
A Tribute to Her MotherThe result? The audience melted, then stood up and cheered, and after the judges closed their gaping mouths, Cowell termed her performance "extraordinary," while fellow judge Piers Morgan admitted she was the biggest surprise he'd ever experienced on the show. Leaving the stage after her number, Boyle – an unemployed charity worker who lives with her cat, Pebbles, and, until recently, had cared for her ailing mother, now deceased – immediately seemed to take it all in stride, until it hit her how much she had wowed the crowd. "Breathtaking, unbelievable, awesome," Boyle now says of the reaction to her.
There are comments about the make-up job Britain's Got Talent gave her, her cat-love and sad life story. The streams keep coming though.
A sampling of the naysayers:
"I wonder if she's a plant - maybe a musical actress in her 20s who retired to have a family, then 20 years later was recruited and given a new identity for the show. The last couple of seasons of AI have had more plants than a nursery."
"Dude, that was such marketing horseshit. (Damn well done, but horseshit nontheless.) This did the *exact* same thing a coupla seasons back with the Paul whatshisface mentioned above: Goat-faced fat man gets up, everyone guffaws...and then OHMIGOSH! Turns out (golly gee), you can't judge a book by its cover. I dunno about you, but I sure learned an important lesson.Seriously, how is it that everyone doesn't smell this from a mile away?!?"
"This was also staged, and her bio--the whole angle of her taking care of her sick mum and having a cat is really too obvious an angle. Watch the video again, and how calmly she returns to the stage and how the announcers are into it. As a singer, Ms. Boyle has incredible poise and control for someone who claims she has never been given the chance to sing. She has, it's obvious. And there will be a Pygmalion-like evolution for her as the UK fashion designers spruce her up whether or not she wins or comes out close to the top. Otherwise she'll be regarded as a novelty act."
"Yes, she was absolutely in cahoots with the producers. Even how she was groomed (wearing make up everywhere but on her eyes, not having hair on her face--anywhere--except those eyebrows) also reveals the work the producers had the make up artists do on her. They capitalized on the right facial features for what they were trying to get across."
To summon the courage to take her act to TV, Boyle said, "You have to take yourself seriously, so what I did was concentrate on the song." She added, "I wanted to make this a tribute to my mother. I knew this was something I had to do." And do it, she did. As of Thursday morning, her YouTube clip – one of several, actually – had generated more than 11 million views and planted Boyle firmly in the pop-culture firmament. On their Twitter sites, Ashton Kutcher posted a link to Boyle's clip, along with the comment: "This just made my night." Added his wife, Demi Moore, "You saw it made me teary!"
